The Dice Lab's design of the standard polyhedral dice are optimized for fairness by balancing the distribution of numbers, using numerals that are physically balanced, and sizing the dice based on both manufacturing and game play considerations. This d8 is optimized for fairness by balancing the distribution of numbers (as well as possible, though a regular octahedron doesn't allow perfect balancing). With a face-to-face diameter of 18mm, these d8s are significantly larger than most d8s on the market.
